Economist with extensive experience in economic analysis of the fisheries, aquaculture and fish processing sectors, and in the coordination of international research programmes and scientific networks. She holds a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Salerno and began her career at ICRAM before continuing at IREPA until 2012. Since 2003 she has been consistently involved in the EU Data Collection Programme (DCF/EUMAP), working on the economic analysis of the fishing fleet and the fish processing industry. Since 2013 she has been a founding partner and researcher at NISEA, where she develops indicators and methodologies to support fisheries policy and conducts economic studies on fisheries, aquaculture and processing. In 2025 she served as responsible author and lead author of the National Fisheries Profile of Italy for the European Commission. She works as an independent expert for the European Commission (REA, STECF) and holds a PhD in Economics, Management and Statistics from the University of Messina, where she studied the role of aquaculture in achieving SDG 14 and within the circular economy through LCA case studies. She is a member of the GFCM Technical Advisory Group on Value Chain and Market Access.
